Dr. Thatcher was raised on a potato farm in Eastern Idaho and returned to the Upper Valley with his wife and five children. He values hard work, faith, family, and the community that shaped him.
Before medicine, he served as a missionary in Brazil and worked as a river guide on the Colorado River. He speaks fluent Portuguese and conversational Spanish.

Dr. Thatcher is a board-certified urologist who completed urologic surgery residency training at Jefferson Health after earning his medical degree from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. His clinical work includes minimally invasive and robotic-assisted urologic care.
He is affiliated with Madison Memorial Hospital, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Mountain View Hospital, and Idaho Falls Community Hospital. His background also includes national rural health advocacy through the National Rural Health Association, the Paul Ambrose Scholars Program, and the American Urological Association Holtgrewe Legislative Fellowship.
